Terms and Conditions
Last updated 14 October 2026 (version 2026-10-14).
These terms explain the rules for using QR MAGIC at qrmagic.co.uk and in the QR MAGIC app (together, “the Service”). Please read them, together with our Privacy Policy. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
1. Who we are
The Service is run by J Moorcroft trading as QR MAGIC, a sole trader, of Flat 5, Bexley Court, Grimsby, DN31 3DS, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at support@qrmagic.co.uk.
2. Accepting these terms
- You accept these terms by creating an account, or by using the Service without one.
- When you buy a paid plan, you are asked to agree to these terms again, and we record the version you accepted.
- If you use the Service for a business, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for that business.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 to create an account, and at least 18 to buy a paid plan.
- Give us a real email address that you control, and keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- Tell us straight away at support@qrmagic.co.uk if you think someone else has used your account.
- You can delete your account at any time (how to delete your account).
4. What the Service does
- Static QR codes, business cards and phone wallpapers are made in your browser. Their content is stored inside the image, so they keep working without us.
- Dynamic QR codes contain a short link on our domain (for example qrmagic.co.uk/r/abc1234) that redirects to a destination you choose. They depend on the Service: they work while your code exists and is not paused, and stop if you delete it or your account.
- We may improve, change or remove features. If a change significantly reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.
5. Free and paid plans
- The Free plan includes unlimited static QR codes, business cards, wallpapers, 2 dynamic QR codes and 30 days of scan history.
- The Pro plan includes 50 dynamic QR codes and 1 year of scan history. Current prices and features are on our pricing page.
- Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where VAT applies.
6. Subscriptions and payment
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Pro is a subscription that renews automatically each month or year, depending on what you chose, until you cancel. Your card is charged at the start of each period.
- If we change the price of your plan, we will email you at least 30 days before the change affects you, so you can cancel first.
- If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it and we will remind you to update your card. If it still fails, your account moves to the Free plan (see section 8).
7. Cancelling and refunds
- You can cancel at any time under Manage billing on your dashboard. Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and is not renewed.
- 14-day refund. If you change your mind within 14 days of first subscribing, email support@qrmagic.co.uk and we will refund your first payment in full. This includes, and goes beyond, your legal right to cancel a contract made online.
- Apart from that, we do not refund part-used periods, unless the law requires us to or the Service has not been provided as described.
8. If your plan ends
If you cancel, a payment fails or you move from Pro to Free, your printed dynamic QR codes keep working. If you then have more dynamic QR codes than your plan allows, you cannot create new ones or change their destinations until you upgrade again or delete some. Scan history beyond your plan's limit is hidden until you upgrade.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- link to or share anything illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights (such as copyright or trade marks);
- deceive people, including phishing, scams, fake payment pages or impersonating someone;
- spread malware or harmful software, or send spam;
- link to sexual content involving minors, or content that promotes violence, terrorism or hatred;
- attack, overload or try to break into the Service, or get around plan limits.
We may pause or delete dynamic QR codes that break these rules, and suspend or close accounts that do so, where possible after warning you. We may also pass information to the police or other authorities when the law requires it.
10. Your content and ours
- You own what you put into the Service, such as text, links and logos. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the Service to you. You confirm you have the right to use it, including any logos.
- The Service, its design and its templates belong to us. You may use the QR codes, cards and wallpapers you make, including for business, but you may not copy or resell the templates or the Service itself.
11. Scan data
When someone scans a dynamic QR code, we record anonymised details (time, device, approximate location) to show you statistics, as explained in our Privacy Policy. If you use dynamic QR codes for a business, you are responsible for telling people in your own privacy notice where the law requires it.
12. Availability
- We work hard to keep the Service, and especially dynamic QR code redirects, running, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or problems with our hosting providers.
- Please test your QR codes before printing them in large numbers.
- If we ever decide to close the Service, we will give you at least 90 days' notice by email, and refund any payment for time after the closing date.
13. Our responsibility to you
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit.
- If you are a consumer: we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. The Service is for domestic and private use as well as small business use; if you use it for business, the next point applies to that use.
- If you are a business: we are not responsible for loss of profit, sales, business, data or goodwill, or any indirect loss. Our total responsibility to you in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, or £100 if more.
- We are not responsible for the websites or content that QR codes made by other people point to.
14. Suspending or ending your account
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Unless the breach is serious or the law prevents it, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we close a paid account without you being at fault, we will refund any payment for time after it closes.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect new features or changes in the law. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the Service at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can cancel and delete your account before then.
16. Law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of your own country's mandatory consumer laws.
- If you have a complaint, please email support@qrmagic.co.uk first. We aim to reply within 14 days.
- If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Only you and we have rights under these terms.
